Why Bennette Accounting

Books kept by an accountant, not just a data-entry service

Candice is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with more than 20 years in accounting. She catches the things that cause problems later, like personal expenses mixed into the business or sales tax collected but never set aside.

Because she also prepares tax returns, your books are kept with your return in mind all year.

Questions

Bookkeeping FAQs

How often will my books be updated?

Most clients choose monthly bookkeeping, so their numbers are never more than a few weeks old. Businesses with low transaction volume often do well with quarterly.

What accounting software do you use?

Most clients use QuickBooks, and Candice is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. If you're not on QuickBooks yet, we can set it up for you.

I'm months behind on my books. Can you catch me up?

Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping is common. We work through the backlog, reconcile each month, and get you current before your next tax deadline.

Will I still have access to my books?

Yes. Your books stay in your own QuickBooks account, and you can log in and see them anytime.

What's the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?

Bookkeeping is recording and reconciling every transaction so the records are complete and accurate. Accounting uses those records to prepare statements, file returns and plan ahead. Working with an accountant for both means the records are kept with the bigger picture in mind.

Do you work with businesses outside Florida?

Yes. Bookkeeping is handled remotely, so we work with businesses in all 50 states. Local clients are welcome to meet at our Apopka office.

How much does bookkeeping cost?

It depends on your transaction volume, the number of accounts and how often you need reports. After a short consultation, we quote the work up front so there are no surprises.
